Aug 2020 BCE Cycling Club Ride Report
On the last Saturday of August, we met up at 9am for a short ride through the hills of Western Kumamoto. There were only five of us and Shun’s bike was a piece of junk, but it was good fun.
The Route
Distance: 25km
Time: 2 hours
Difficulty: Moderately easy
We started at BCE and rode out past Honmyoji and then started up the Eastern side of Kinpozan. The route is a little steep and even though it was 9am, it was pretty hot and sunny, especially for a straight incline for 30-40 minutes.
Once we got to the half-way point up Kinpozan, we stopped near Touge no Chaya for a drink of water, and then headed on Rt. 101 towards Yoshino. This was a bit steep at first but lots of tree cover and quite roads, so that was nice.
At Yoshino, we kept going on 101 towards the Food Pal area, and after descending hopped on the Yuuka Family Road for the rest of the way back.
At the end of the ride, we stopped at Jolly Pasta for some lunch.
Thanks everybody! Let’s go again soon!
